Sources publish once a day (the European Central Bank only on working days), so a rate can be up to a day old. The source and its update time are shown with every result.

Common mistakes
- Treating the displayed exchange rate as what a bank or card provider will actually give - real providers add a margin or fee on top of (or below) the mid-market rate shown here, so the amount actually received or charged will differ.
- Using a historical rate for a date far in the past as if it reflects today's value of that money - exchange rates move constantly, so a conversion at an old rate answers "what was it worth then," not "what is it worth now."
- Relying on a stale or fallback rate for a time-sensitive decision without checking the rate status shown - a rate marked as saved/stale may be hours or days old, which matters for a transaction happening right now.
